FIRE DEPARTlMENT

Trustee Papineau reported on the following:

A request and recommendation to purchase a rack for gear at a cost of $5228.60 was made. The village will pay half and half would be paid from foreign fire funds.

President Murawski entertained a motion to concur with the recommendation.

Motion made by Trustee Stephens and seconded by Trustee Wilkins.

A request and recommendation for Rosemarie Malone to attend the Illinois Fire Chiefs Secretary Association seminar in Champaign, November 20-23rd was read.

President Murawski entertained a motion to grant funds as requested.

Motion made by Trustee Kreis-Verble and seconded by Trustee Kreis. All ayes. Motion carried.

FLORAMO RESOLUTION

A resolution advising Carolina Casualty Insurance Company that the village will draw $5000 on Floramo Construction Company's $115,000 bond was read. A required $5000 payment to cover ongoing legal and engineering fees was missed.

President Murawski entertained a motion authorizing the village president to sign the resolution and serve notice to the bond company as read.

Motion made by Trustee Wilkins and seconded by Trustee Papineau. All ayes. Motion carried.

ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEWS

In a letter from Attorney Sullivan, a request for $4282.95 was made for professional services for administrative review matters for parking ticket court.

President Murawski entertained a motion to pay the bill when funds become available.

LUMINARIA

A request from Lenny Feil, Chairman of Luminaria to conduct annual sale of luminaries on Sundays, December 15 and 22 from 8:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. in St. Chris parking lot. Luminaria also requests a no fee permit to put up Luminaria signs and pick-up signs along with an article in the Tartan Tidings and an announcement of both sale dates on the Village of Midlothian sign. Lenny Feil also asked if the Village of Midlothian would again purchase luminaries.

President Murawski entertained a motion to grant permission as requested and funds in the amount of $625 for the purchase of Luminaria to be placed around public buildings.

Motion made by Trustee Stephens and seconded by Trustee Wilkins. All ayes. Motion carried.

CHICAGO SOUTHLAND CHAMBER

Membership in Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce is up for renewal for $485.

President Murawski entertained a motion authorizing renewal of the village Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce membership for $485.

Motion made by Trustee Stephens and seconded by Trustee Kreis-Verble. All ayes. Motion carried.

INSURANCE

President Murawski was copied on correspondence to Treasurer Borne regarding the IMLRMA 2003 Renewal with one coverage change: terrorism exclusion ($10,000,000 limit on terrorism). There will be a 13% increase for coverage in 2003. Based on the minimax program, our total rcnewal amount, making the minimum contribution will be $268,23 1, which President Murawski recommends paying in two installments.

President Murawski entertained a motion to renew the IMLRMA for 2003 based on the minimum contribution of $268,231 in two installments.

Clerk McAdams read an Ordinance Authorizing Execution of the IMLRMA MidMax Agreement.

President Murawski entertained a motion to suspend the rules of procedure to adopt an ordinance.

The Midlothian Salt Storage facility is complete and payment to Bulk Storage in the amount of $86,107.50 has been invoiced. The wages paid on the project conform to Cook County Prevailing Wage Standards.

President Murawski entertained a motion to pay Bulk Storage $86,107.50 when funds become available.

Trustee Potempa reported on the following:

A request from Superintendent Hansen to replace two vehicles was read. Proposals from State Purchasing, Fairfield Ford, and Midlothian Dodge were received on a 1999 Ford Explorer and a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 with a snowplow. $22,501.00 on a 1999 Dodge Ram from State Purchasing and $23,234.00 on a 1999 Ford Explorer from Fairfield Ford were the low proposals. The existing vehicles would go to the SSMMA Municipal Auction in May.

President Murawski entertained a motion to concur with Superintendent Hansen's recommendation and purchase the 1999 Ford Explorer from Fairfield Ford and the 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 with snowplow from State Purchasing.

BUILDING DEPARTMENT

Building Department reports for the month of December An invoice in the amount of $5250 from Bechstein Construction for the demolition of the house at 14623 St. Louis was presented for payment. Parkway restoration was pending weather conditions.

Camiros representatives were in town doing land surveys. More focus group meetings are planned.

BUILDING DEPARTMENT

Trustee Stephens reported that a meeting regarding the Comprehensive Plan would take place on Friday, August 14th with Camiros to discuss the contract. Trustee Stephens read a request from the Building Department for two telephones from Ameritech at a total cost of $150.

President Murawski entertained a motion to have the Building Department purchase two cell phones from Ameritech.

POLICE & FIRE

Trustee Wilkins read a request from Chief Mandarins to renew the service contract with Advantage Copier at a cost of $400.

President Murawski entertained a motion to concur with the recommendation and enter into an agreement with Advantage.

Motion made by Trustee Eberhardt and seconded by Trustee Kreis. Motion carried.

Trustee Wilkins read a request from Chief Mandarins to purchase 30 sets of turnout gear to comply with NFPA Standards. Quotes were received from AEC at a total of $24510 and Global at a total of $23092.50.

President Murawski entertained a motion to concur with the Chief and purchase the gear from Global.

Trustee Potempa commented on the new surfacing used on the entrance to the Chamber Council A proposal from Tom Scholl Paving to do the crosswalks at 147th & Keystone at a cost of $4.00 sq.ft. not to exceed $1500 was made.

President Murawski entertained a motion to concur with the recommendation of Superintendent Hansen and install the walkways.

Motion made by Trustee Eberhardt and seconded by Trustee Stephens. Terry Stephens added that the surfacing could become part of the Comprehensive Plan. Motion carried.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS

Trustee Kreis read a request from Cheryl Jordan to purchase two diaper changing tables and two towel dispensers for Raday Lodge at a cost of $650 from Northwest Enterprises.

President Murawski entertained a motion to authorize the manager of Raday Lodge to purchase the changing tables and towel dispensers as discussed.

Motion made by Trustee Valacak and seconded by Trustee Stephens. Motion carried.

Trustee Kreis reminded everyone of the Senior Luncheon on August 14th to be catered by Bartolini's. Cheryl Jordan was complimented on the job she is doing at the Lodge and with the seniors.

EMERGENCY GENERATOR

The Marchione contract in the amount of $39334, had been reviewed and was ready to be executed.

President Murawski entertained a motion to grant the Village President permission to enter into a contract with Marchione to install a new generator and relocate another.

The following totals were referenced: $31,154, $6190, and $1990 as part of the contract. Chief Mandarins stated that 911 would go on automatic referral to another community during the connection time.

A proposal from Daniel's Interiors in the amount of $1308.76 for an additional workstation in the Administration office was presented.
