Bremen High School recently announced its 2010 Hall of Fame inductees, including: Mr. William Stolz, Mr. Tony Baranek, and Mr. Jerry Gillis.
Jerry Gillis, class of 1978, is the current Superintendent of Parks and Grounds for the Midlothian Park District and a Village of Midlothian Trustee. He is a retired firefighter/paramedic with 8 years of service in Midlothian. Jerry has served as a coach at all levels in Midlothian, including Bremen where he coached for over 20 years. His awards include: the Midlothian Park District 2004 Employee of the year and the 2006 South Suburban Parks and Recreation Young Professional of the Year. Jerry participated in football, basketball and baseball while at Bremen.
Mr. Stolz, class of 1957, served as Secretary and President of the Bremen Township Board in addition to coaching a number of sports teams. While at Bremen he was a 3-sport athlete and president of the Student Council and Letterman's Club. Mr. Baranek, class of 1974, has been a lead sports reporter for the Southtown Star for 34 years. He has received numerous awards in journalism. While at Bremen, Tony wrote for the "ECHO."
