Please be aware that scheduled branch pickup by Public Works is held only twice a year: once in the spring and again in the fall. The fall schedule is listed below. The spring schedule will begin in April (watch for dates). Please mark your calendar now and keep these dates in mind before you decide to do any trimming. Unscheduled branch pickup occurs only after we have a major storm with many village trees affected. Public Works crews will go block by block immediately following the storm to pick up branches. Once all streets have been cleared, storm branch pickup has ended.
Fall Branch Pickup Schedule:
Northeast Quadrant: Monday, October 4
Southeast Quadrant: Monday, October 11
Southwest Quadrant: Monday October 18
Northwest Quadrant: Monday, October 25
Branches must be out on your parkway by Monday morning of your quadrant's designated starting day. Public Works crews will continue in each section until all streets in that section have been covered. It is inefficient for our crews to return to streets that have already been picked up once, so please be on time if you wish to participate in this program.
Whether you are participating in the Village Branch Pickup or you are merely putting out branches as regular yard waste for the garbage pickup, please keep in mind that neither the village nor our waste hauler are tree services, so use discretion in the amount you are putting out for pickup. Both programs are designed to assist residents in disposing of the routine trimming of trees, shrubs and bushes. Neither is designed to handle removal of entire, large trees.
