Don't wait until the last minute to purchase your 2009-10 vehicle sticker when lines are long and the temperature is HOT. Village stickers, motorcycle tags, and animal licenses went on sale May 1st at the Village Hall. The deadline for displaying your 2009-10 sticker is June 30, 2009. Don't wait until the last week of June to purchase your vehicle sticker(s). Purchase stickers NOW while they are sold at the regular rate ($30 for passenger vehicles & RVs, $25 for motorcycles, and $40 for B-plated trucks). Beginning July 1 until July 31 a $10 penalty will be added to the normal fee for late purchase. Between August 1 and September 30 the license fee will be double the normal rate. After September 30 the fee will be triple the normal rate. For your convenience, vehicle stickers will also be sold at the two Midlothian Currency Exchanges: 148th & Pulaski and 147th & Cicero. They have longer hours than the Village Hall, so there should be no excuse for not having your sticker(s) on time.
Transfer Vehicle Stickers: If you change vehicles after purchasing your sticker, please don't worry about scraping your old sticker off the iwndshield in tact. You must get a new "transfer sticker" for $2, giving us your "new" car information. You must do this within thirty (30) days of purchasing the replacement vehicle to avoid being issued a citation.
New Residents: If you are a new resident of the Village of Midlothian, you have 30 days to come in for a Midlothian sticker. You should also change your registration with the Illinois Secretary of State to your Midlothian address at your earliest convenience (local office located at 14434 Pulaski). Residents who pay their own water bill should also put down a water deposit at the Village Hall. You will then receive a packet of information that is helpful to new residents.
Animal Tags: When you purchase your vehicle stickers it is good to also get your 2009-10 animal tags. All you need is a current rabies tag number. Animal tags are $6 per animal, $3 if the animal's owner is 65 and over.
