Mayor Stephens with Trustees Kreis and Gillis welcome the more than 75 volunteers who spent the morning cleaning up a variety of alleys, parkeways, and vacant lots throughout the Village and then were on hand for the Arbor Day observance.
Time for a great afternoon treat at the Grand Opening of Two Sisters Frozen Custard at 4734 West 147th St.
The Abeyta Family and Village Officials gather in front of the maple tree planted in honor of Sgt. Christopher Abeyta. He was a graduate from Bremen High School who lost his life in Afghanistan on March 15, 2009.
The Bremen High School Football team players spent the morning scraping and painting fire hydrants on the west side of town. At 10:30AM they waited at Memorial Park, 145th and Sawyer Ave., to assist in the Annual Arbor Day tree planting.
