Bike to Work Week will celebrate bicycle commuting from June 13019, 2009.  The Active Transportation Alliance organizes Bike to Work Week and related events like the Bike Commuter Challenge and Bike to Metra to encourage commuters to save money and time by using their bikes for all or part of their commutes.  Anyone can participate.  Biking to work is more economical, healthier and better for the environment.  Chicagoland is perfect for bicycling with nearly 2,500 miles of bikeways.

Bike Commuter Challenge is a competition between Chicagoland businesses and organizations to see who can have the highest percentage of employees bike at least once, at least part of the way to work during Bike to Work Week.  Winning teams win bragging rights and fabulous prizes.  Learn more or reister a team at.

Bike to Metra encourages suburban residents to bike to their nearest Metra Station where they will be rewarded with free coffee, air and chain lube, and a free cup of coffee on their way to work.  Get details at.  For tips on biking to work, see.
