With summer thunderstorms being a reality, Com Ed urges residents to follow a few safety tips. Never touch a downed power line. The wires are dangerous and could cause electrocution. Call 1-800-EDISON-1 and the Midlothian Fire Department (385-2534 or 489-4742) to report a downed power line.
You must call COM ED Customer Service at 1-800-EDISON-1 to report any power outages, NOT the Village of Midlothian. Outages are tracked by the number and location of incoming calls to Com Ed's Customer Service line 1-800-EDISON-1 (1-800-334-7661). In severe weather, please remain patient as thousands of customers may be simultaneously calling the phone line. Be assured that Com Ed crews will work around the clock to restore power as quickly as possible.
Spanish speaking customers should contact Com Ed at 1-800-95-LUCES (1-800-955-8237).
