The “resident only” parking ban signs are now in place in the area around the Rock Island station, and are being enforced.  The only cars that may be parked in front of homes there between 7 and 9 a.m. are those which bear official “resident” stickers. The stickers are available, at no cost, from the Police Department only for those residents who live within the restricted area.  Response by residents has been slow, and they are reminded that their own car is in violation if parked in this area without the special sticker, according to Trustee Tom Valacak.
